Latest Work
by Barbara Barrick McKie

Since 1996 I've been exploring the potential of digital imagery on quilts. In addition, I continue exploring surface design, particularly dye painting on silk, but also discharged cotton fabrics,
silk shibori. I continue my work with still-life and floral themes as well as landscapes. Most recently, I've been doing a series of animal quilts with thread painted texture as well as continuing floral quilts. I often combine realism and abstraction.
The Latest Quilts for 2013 created since those on this page can be found on the

Birds and Landscape section - Woodland Visitors

Animal Quilts section - Dreaming of Home and Chip on an Old Log

Floral Series section - Floral Departure, Dance of the Roses and Fanfare for Roses
