I became interested in the idea of working with the fringe I had saved from my hand dyed fabrics. The first series was "Beyond the Fringe" and includes framed work 12" x 12" x 3/4" stretched over coated stretcher bars. The second series, "Fringe Elements" combines one of the metallic elements with what in primitieve times was thought of as the "elements" that made up the entire world which are water, fire, earth, and air. This second series, so far, consists of pieces stretched over coated stretcher bars and sized 15" x 15" x 3/4". Each has a mokume gane polymer clay focal point. They work together as a series or individually, and can be purchased either way.
