Art Quilts

In looking out my window at the squirrels and their antics and in my travels, I am fascinated by animals and their sometimes funny behaviors as well as how they relate to other animals. I started a series of animals based on my photography in 2007 and it continues to be a large part of my art quilting. In 2008 I started doing thread painting and increasingly am including trapunto in the work. I have also done several commissioned pieces of pets. Many of my animal and bird art quilts including the cover quilt are included in the book by Martha Sielman, Art Quilt Portfolio: The Natural World by Lark Books, 2013 where my Pelican Pride quilt is featured on the cover. Others are in Cutting Edge Art Quilts by Mary Kerr, Schiffer Publishing, 2013.
