Spirit Flow #10: Reawakening
This is what happened when I challenged myself to start with a stack of fabric I liked and just start creating without any idea of where it would lead once I finished. This piece uses mostly commercial cotton fabric, though some is my own hand dyed cotton. The natural textures of the velvet and sateen and broadcloth are embellished with machine quilting and couched yarns of various textures. The border has piping all around, which gives it stability.
