Southwest Rhythms
This art quilt is about the beauty of small variations from the delicate variations of the patterns in a bird's feathers to the variations in the patterning in surface design, the small variations of color. To emphasize the point, the quilting within the surface design patterns are no two alike, making for endless study and surprise. All fabric but the black border were created by the artist. Techniques include: discharged and over-dyed cotton, immersion dyed cottons, glass and metal beads and peacock feathers.
