Picnic on the Mosel
My Mother-in-Law, who has a great artistic sense, suggested this quilt idea to me. On viewing my previous quilt, A Loaf of Bread, A Jug of Wine and You, she said "Where's the cheese?". Immediately, my mind went back to a trip in 1971 when my husband and I and our friends had wine and cheese for lunch on the Mosel River. It also took me back to my grandparents, whom I never met, who came from Luxembourg and lived near the Mosel River. Mosel wine happens to be my favorite.
Silk painting combined with disperse dyed polyester. Machine quilted and machine appliqued.
