Lava Flow

I wanted to make a quilt for the 2005 Surface Design Association challenge "Constants and Variables". I had a series of cotton deconstructed screen printed prints, and I scanned some combined them with images of some of the tree trunks that I had photographed and used others directly. I added some thin pieces of fringe to separate the images as I pieced them, and then machine quilted it extensively.
