39" w. x 33" h. For years we have been collecting fortunes from Chinese restaurants. Not coincidentally, Jim was doing a fortune cookie sculpture in marble when I got the idea for this piece. The chop sticks have my "Barbara McKie" chop on them as a signature. The back is covered with good fortunes. This piece has many surface design techniques including hand painted disperse dyed polyester, disperse dye polyester transfers, dye painted and immersion dyed cotton fabrics. It is machine appliqued, pieced and quilted. All fabrics by the artist. Private collection. Copyright by Barbara Barrick McKie, all rights reserved. |
