25" w. x 26 1/4" h. About 5 years ago, I received some photographs from NASA, anticipating a future quilt. The one on this quilt shows the desert in Algeria. In thinking about entering 2000, I wanted to interpret the breakthroughs in "space" that have and are taking place. The reduction of time space, the new cyber-space, and of course, the exploration of space and other planets and objects in the universe. Also included is the space of the "unknown". Techniques include: Digital polyester fabric, hand dyed cottons, machine pieced and machine quilted. Copyright by Barbara Barrick McKie, all rights reserved. |
