Memories of Dubrovnik #1
My husband, Jim visited Dubrovnik, Yugoslavia before the war's devastation and took photos from his window. I was fascinated by the patterns in the roof tiles and made the fabrics used in this quilt using computer transfers of the repeated images to fabric. This quilt won the "Director's Choice" prize at the NorthEast Quilt Festival in 1996 and was the Connecticut winner of the Great American Quilt Festival in 1996. It is featured in the online Smithsonian collection from that show. Techniques used: Computer transfers, immersion dyed cotton, pieced and machine quilted.
